Millstreet Country Park

A visit here is a must if you love wild landscapes, sheltered gardens, flora and fauna, herb-rich meadows, developing arboretums, blanket bog, even deer pasture. And if you don’t feel like doing some of the longer trails, avail of the courtesy coaches which ply the mountainside tracks. Explore the extensive gardens or rambling trails, dine or shop in the visitor centre or take a guided tour of the deer farm and 500 acre parklands.

A visit to Millstreet Country Park is an experience that will stay with you for the rest of your life such is the beauty of the setting, the vastness of the panoramic views and the isolated, yet accessible location of the 500-acre park area on the northern slopes of Musheramore in the Boggeragh Mountain Range just outside Millstreet Town . There is something for everyone from the nature lover to the gardener to the stroller and the hill-walker and every classification in between and including all of them. There are walking trails, which can be undertaken at a leisurely pace among the beautifully laid-out gardens, and there are longer trails, which are as challenging as you want them.  Within the main Reception Area there is an Information Desk, which will help you to get a broad overview of the park its contents and its aims. There is also a cinema wherein you may view Audio Visual presentations to acquaint you with what is in store for you. Dotted throughout the park are information panels, whicha are both illustrative and informative of the many varieties of birds and wildlife you are likely to encounter on your way. There is a beautiful restaurant, which specialises in venison dishes as well as a gift shop.
