A meeting will be held on:
Monday February 23rd at 8.00 pm in the Hibernian Hotel Mallow
To discuss possible themes and strategies to apply the € 25,000 fund collected from you and matched funding by Failte Ireland. We will show you material prepared by the advertising consultants appointed by Failte Ireland. The consultants will outline what our options are to gain the maximum benefit from the fund.
We hope you can attend or send a delegate as your input would be very welcome. It is hoped to discuss other matters of topical interest such as
The offer by Failte Ireland to run a workshop / seminar for our group.
Consider ways of co operative marketing jointly offering our products and / services.
Consider our approach to the Swansea Cork Ferry appeal.
We hope that you will be a part of the decisions that will be made on Monday evening in relation to the Marketing fund.

Visitor’s Welcome Offers:
A new initiative to welcome visitors is being introduced by Blackwater Valley Tourism.
The scheme will drive new additional business to all activities, restaurants, and those providing services to the visitors. Those with accommodation to offer will have an attractive range of new offers for their guests that may tempt them to stay longer in the Valley.
Visitors who stay in accommodation in the valley - in hotels, B&B’s or self catering- will be offered a range of attractive discounts on activities, restaurants and other services. The scheme requires accommodation providers to sign up to a simple charter whereby they agree to promote the scheme, make their guests aware of all the attractions on offer, and ensure that their guests are bona fida visitors. The product providers are required to honor their offers when presented with a voucher authorised by the accommodation source.
This combination of offers will be promoted as part of the 2009 marketing campaign which was subscribed from Blackwater Valley tourism providers with match funding from Failte Ireland totaling 25K. A new A3 flyer is being produced showing all the offers and the accommodation providers who are participating in the scheme. Voucher books will be issued to each participating accommodation source. All the offers will be posted on the www.blackwatervalley.ie web site.
Special offers such as a percentage discount, a two for one offer, a bottle of wine with a dinner for four, early bird dinner offers, special hackney fares, free entry at certain hours, children’s discounts etc will all be valid offers. These offers will only be available to visitors using accommodation so that it will always be new additional business for the service provider. Those offering accommodation can include these offer rather than discounting their rates for this season.
